Limited Release Pinot Noir, Central Otago, 2017: The wine shows the typical Central Otago hallmarks of red and dark fruit intertwined with savoury complexities The Vineyard was established at the turn of the century and exclusively planted with Pinot Noir, to capture what Central Otago has become world-famous for. 2017 was another great Central Otago vintage with a warm summer and long dry autumn. This has given us a wine of great vibrancy and intensity.
5/5 from Michael Cooper, 94/100 from Sam Kim Wine Orbit, 94/100 from Candice Chow Wine Reviews.
Celebrate Life, Shiraz 2021, Victoria, Australia: Aromas of dark berries and vanilla pod, clove and some pepperiness, black currant and a touch of brown sugar. All these ideas are repeated across the palate from the first sip, with a lick of chocolate and wood smoke as well. Firm-ish tannins are easy to dissolve, the acid line keeps the mouthfeel firm and refreshed. A balanced and well made wine with immediate drinkability. Food friendly too. Best drinking from 2024 through 2028.
New Release SINGLE VINEYARD, LIMITED RELEASE Pinot Noir, 2023: It's gorgeously aromatic on the nose, showing sweet cherry, thyme, game, clove, and nutmeg characters. The palate delivers fine flow and elegant weight, beautifully framed by layers of polished tannins, finishing persistent and pleasingly dry. At its best: now to 2035 (Sam Kim- Wine Orbit): 95/100, 5/5 Stars
Alana Estate, Reserve Pinot Noir Single Vineyard, Marlborough 2020: It's beautifully fruited and complex, showing dark cherry, dried herb, game and dried mushroom aromas, leading to a finely textured palate that's juicy and supple. Well structured by grainy tannins, finishing long and pleasingly dry. Reviews: Sam Kim- Wine Orbit: 5 Stars, 93/100 points. Reviews: Yvvone Lorking 4 Stars
